The goal of Christ Anglican Church of Mobile is to be a worshipping, healing, and missionary community where Jesus Christ transforms lives.
Placed in Midtown Mobile, we worship in the ancient-future model. We are liturgical in structure, Charismatic in worship, expositional in preaching, and sacramental in our fellowship.
We embrace people from all walks of life, and have a seat saved just for you no matter where you are in your walk with Jesus.
God’s free gift of grace is open to all who will come to Him. This is accomplished only by the work of Jesus done once for all in His death, burial, and resurrection. This salvation touches every part of our lives and allows us to be who we were made to be in Him.
Christ Church proclaims that there is only way way to God, and it is through His only Son, Jesus Christ.
Faith is the foundation of life with God and all that we do. It enables us to live as His servants in the world and do all that He has called us to do.
Christ Church believes that faith is a gift and a journey. Given by God and grown through our lives, faith is what binds us to the life of God.
God has revealed Himself to us through the Scriptures, by the Holy Spirit, and in the Sacraments. His truth is evident and declares that He is the One in whom all our hope and healing are found.
Christ Church is committed to obedience to all of the revealed truth of God.
Worship is any action that exalts the Lord and reveals more of who He is and what He has done.
Christ Church strives to glorify God through worship that is rooted in Scripture, open to the Spirit, and in keeping with the ancient traditions of the church passed down for two thousand years.
Prayer is speaking to God, and listening to God. We bring our supplications, our adoration, and intercession to Him, and He responds to us. We believe that the voice of God still speaks today to His people by the Holy Spirit.
Christ Church is a prayerful people, and a listening people, obedient to His voice in the world today.
God’s healing is available to His people today. It can come through miraculous means. It can come through the ordinary means of wisdom given to doctors, surgeons, and counselors. It can come through prayer ministry, when God, over time, brings healing to His people who ask of Him.
Christ Church practices healing prayer ministry for the inner healing of our emotional pain and trauma, for the physical healing of our bodies, and the spiritual healing of our brokenness.
We believe in the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
These are three distinct Persons, but one Godhead. Co-equal, co-eternal, of one substance and being.
To read more on this, see The Athanasian Creed.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father. He humbled Himself and became Man, while not losing His position of being co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Spirit. He lived among us, suffered with us, and died for us, rising again in victory over the grave. He has ascended to the Father and will come again to fulfill His promise and bring His kingdom to all the earth.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the down payment of God’s promise, the life of God in the soul of man that grants us the new birth, and the power to be all that He has called us to be.
The Spirit gives gifts to God’s people as they need them, and those gifts are active and present in the world today.
We believe the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments to be the very Word of God and contain all that is necessary for salvation.
We believe that the original autographs are divinely inspired, and God has preserved His Word throughout the ages for the edification and education of His people.
In baptism, we are made members of the New Covenant of God, visible members of His body here on earth.
We believe the promise of Baptism is to all who believe, their children, and their children’s children. We baptize both adults and infants as members of God’s family.
We believe in the “one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church.” The body of believers, made up of the universal (catholic) church that is every believer in Jesus, in keeping with the teachings of the apostles, and set apart alone for Jesus. The local church is the visible, bodily manifestation of the universal church throughout the ages.
We believe that God has gifted His church through three expressions that guide our identity, our responsibility, and our ability.
We believe that all have fallen short of God’s original design. This is the source of all pain, suffering, and death in our world. God has revealed Himself to man to call them back to their original vocation of being His kingdom keepers in the world.
We believe men and women are made equal in God’s sight, and though different in gifting and biology, are servants together in His kingdom.
We affirm Scriptural teachings on human ethics, morality, and sexuality, but do not shame those who are different from us. All are welcome to experience the life of God wherever they are in their journey.
